No Downward Compatible to VMs created by workstation pro 12?

Hi there,

I just updated to the latest pro 14, the UI is coolSmiley Wink However is it a marked problem -when open the old VMs created by workstation pro 12, it goes a black screen stuck, wondering what to do now.

OK..

It's not completely black screen- 20mins later, I found that the guest OS was actually booted:

see the thumbnail view but somehow the guest main screen is idling...

Could you enter fullscreen mode, and can fitguest operation work?

Even it works hardly could I know...due to the completely black screen...

And I found it's not only for the old, but also for the newly created vms. I guess the thing is this is the version shouldn't have upgraded for now, cause the system requirements somehow don't meet.

Sorry 14, I have to downgrade to 12Smiley Sad

Hi, AriesScorpio:

Would you please reproduce the issue and upload the vmware-ui.log and vmware.log? The vmware-ui.log locates at %temp%vmware-$user/vmware-ui-xxxxx.log, and the vmware.log should locates in the same folder of your VM related files. Thanks very much

Hello everyone,

Currently we cannot reproduce the issue internally. Can you please provide more information about how you use VMware Workstation?

- Are you running Workstation with non-admin user? Does "launch as administrator" help?

- Does closing VM tab and reopening again help?
