New Lenovo T520 does NOT WORK with Vmware Workstation!

I am trying to migrate to a new Lenovo T520 laptop

i7-2820qm with 8GB of memory

I installed a Vertex 3 240GB SSD

The host system is Window 7 64bit.

The virtual machines are Windows XP 32bit.

I moved the virtual machine to the new laptop, and I could not login with any password.   So I removed the password from the original VM and then transfered the new VM to the new system.

It turns out that what ever key I hit, the system is typing a number in numeric sequence, i.e. hit 'a' and the number 1 appears, hit "a" again and the number 2 appears, and so on.    1234567890123....   etc

This is NOT a num lock problem.

If I run OSK (On screen keyboard), it appears to work correctly.   But that can not be a permanent solution.

I have also tried deleting the VM, and creating a new one from scratch, using the install CD.    I have the same problem!

I have tried disabling the Optimus (graphics) capabilities, no joy.

I have tried using the 'enhanced keyboard', still no joy.

I am truely stumpped.   Any ideas?

Well that was a days waste of time.

I reset the system to factory default and loaded VMWARE, then loaded my software one by one till it stoped working.

!@#@$&(*&  Comcast Constant Guard has a very good keyboard logging protection, but it destroys Vmware.

If you got here by Google, I suggest you uninstall all anti-virus software to see if that is the problem.
