Network boot from intel E1000

I have several VMs that used to work on the old VM players. Now I've downloaded VM Workstation 12 and am running on winodws 10.

The VMs are all trying to do Network boots.

Does anyone know why previously working VMs would, when rebooted, switch to a network boot?
Is network boot the new default for VMs?

I think this is probably happening because I made the VMs in VMWare Player 8 and I'm trying to open them in VMWare Workstation Player (free version) 12.

Hi,

Normally the network boot is the last option in the boot list of the BIOS.

This default has not changed afaik.

It means that for some reason your VMs no longer boot.

If you have not done anything to your VMs like moving them to another folder while the paths to the disks are hardcoded then that is weird.

It could be due to a permissions error or other reasons.

Workstation/Player 12 should boot Workstation/Player 8 VMs without any issue.
