Nested VM setup: Strange DHCP issue

Hi,

on my ESXi 6.0 Host I've setup an Windows 8 VM and installed VMware Workstation 12 into it.  On this Workstation 12 I created a VM with ESXi 6.0. I'm surpised about the performance - It's great for that nested VM setup!

My problem is, that the nested ESXi doesn't successfully pull an IP adress from the DHCP from my physical router. When I'm changing the Network from bridged to NAT, it works very well, but I need bridged mode, not NAT. The Win8 VM does also pull successfully an IP adress from my physical router. What I'm doing wrong? Do I have to enable promiscuous mode and/or forged transmits on the ESXi that hosts the Windows 8 VM for the bridge mode to work?

Greetings from germany

Steve

Yes, try enable that on physical host and your nested VM should be able to reach the physical network.
