I am not an expert, but reasonably proficient, and I have previously set up a similar much older system with no issues. Host machine is Windows Server 2008, with VMWare 9. I have multiple Windows 7 VM's set up with NAT networking and they all work fine. I need some of the vm's to host low traffic FTP sites, so I need to assign specific IP addresses to these vm's, and I have additional addresses assigned from my host (GoDaddy). So I change the IP address of the Win 7 machine to an unused one, and set up subnet, gateway, and dns as I should and then shut down the vm. I then edit the vm settings to switch to Bridge instead of NAT and open the vm again. After about 10 seconds of Win 7 rebooting, i loose my RDP connection to the host machine, and the machine appears to be locked up tight. I cannot reconnect, so my only recourse is to get GoDaddy to power it off and back on. I have deleted vm's, rebulit them, rechecked all my settings, and read everything I can find, but it still happens every time. Not sure how many times I can get GoDaddy support to reboot my machine before they get pissed at me, but I am well on the way to finding out. Is there something obvious I am missing here? Thanks for any insight anyone can provide. Michael Gauthier
