NAT sharing IP fails

Running Workstation 6.0.2 on Vista 6.0.6

I can ony get connect to the Internet from my guests when my my host has a wired LAN connection

When the host is using wireless only........... the guests cannot connect to the Internet ??!!!

I am using NAT shared IP with host as my NIC setting on the guest

Its OK fixed by enabling DHCP on the guest !

If I understand you right, you can connect to the internet using NAT when the guests DHCP service is enabled!?

If your NAT vNIC is configured to use DHCP this works as designed. The NAT network uses an internal IP net of 192.x.x.x and all guests connected to it have to have an IP address from this range, either manually set or by using the VMware DHCP service.
