My wireless Atheros-adapter is not detecting in my VM workstation.

Hello

I have guest OS:win7 -32 bit and i have wireless adapter atheros AR9285.

I have installed backtrack 5 R2  in my VM-workstation.but i can not access my wireless adapter in BT5.

on running below command in terminal nothing is shown:

  • iwconfig

lo    no wireless extensions.

eth0     no wireless extensions.

  • airmon-ng

interface      chipset         driver

plz help me...

Assuming I understand the configuration correctly (BackTrack Linux inside Workstation, running on Win7x32) this is normal.

The guest does not have direct access to the network hardware on the host. It has a virtual network adapter that simulates a wired connection.

If you need wireless functionality inside the guest, you can try using a USB wireless adapter, and forwarding it to the guest through USB redirection.

After so long time passed

Did u find any solution on this problem u had???

Plzz contact me if u have any suggestion on solution.

It used to work fine, but the last 3 maybe 4 years im trying nothing happend

only that..:

-

  • iwconfig

lo    no wireless extensions. eth0     no wireless extensions.

  • airmon-ng

interface      chipset         driver

(Just to know, i stil work with backtrack 3 on vmware ver.3  on Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit 6.1.7601, Service Pack 1 and i have try it on Win 7  Pro 3-bit, with the same results) and of course i use the Alfa 036h Network Antenna)
