My VMware workstation 9 is not opening

when I try to open my Vmware worksation 9 its not opening and showing a message that  "could not initialize logging" , So , then I try to repair it but it was also useless:smileyangry: I am getting the error "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error" please can anyone help on these issues I had lot of work to do with my vmware:smileyplain: . I hope i'll get the best answer thank you in advance

My system specifications are :

windows 8 64 bit machine with intel i3 pocessor and 8GB RAM

What does the log file say?

You can find it here : C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\hostd\hostd-n.log  (or) C:\ProgramData\VMware\hostd\hostd-n.log

Hello Abhilash my log file says "Cannot create folder C:Users\shankar\AppData\Local\Temp\Rar$DIa0.860

The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable

what to do now

Try this and see if it fixes it. Read the steps correctly and it also says there is risk of losing data so do think about it.

After that reboot your Base OS and see if Workstation comes up.

First scan your home directory with antivirus and then check the permission on the folder where it puts it logs and then try it again.
