I have Windows Server 2008 license. I have installed it on vmware workstation. If wanted a clone of the same virtual machine. Do i have purchase a new license for windows for the another copy of virtual machine.

This is a Microsoft question, as it has to do with the licensing of your OS... nothing to do with VMware, actually.
As far as everything I have ever read - yes, you do. You need a license for every OS you run, whether physical or virtual.
