Moving VM failure

Using VM Workstation 12.1.

I have been having some hard drive issues so I copied a VM onto the main drive of my computer (c:) and have worked that way for a week or so. Yesterday my new drive arrived so I copied the VMs to that drive and tested that each one was working. I then deleted the folder containing the VMs on my C: drive. Now one of the VMs on the new drive is missing a file, it is looking for it in the original foder on the C: drive. The file does NOT exist on the new drive.

Can anyone explain why the copied VM was even looking at the c: drive?

Is there any way to fix the VM on the new drive?

Thanks,

Sid

It's hard to help without any details. Which file does Workstation complain about? Did you already check the log files to see whether they contain any hints?

Unfortunately, I no longer have the VM in question.
