I have a similar problem, but I can't figure out how to make a new post...
I have VMware Workstation ACE 6.0.2 and I have a mouse problem. I have installed XP Pro SP2 and I installed the VMware Tools. Before VMware tools was installed my mouse stayed locked in the window until I pressed Ctrl+Alt...this was good. After tools it did the automatic grab/ungrab thing. I went to Edit>Preferences>Input and I unchecked the bottom 3 boxes, so it would stop auto grab/ungrab. It seemed to work fine, but if I drag my mouse to the very right edge or very bottom edge of the window, the mouse can get ungrabbed! It seems like some sort of bug...
How can I force my mouse to stay locked in the window? It was fine before VMware tools were installed...I even unchecked the mouse driver during the install!
I need it to stay grabbed so I can play older games.
