Monitor activity of shared folders on Linux

I recently switched my guests to use VMware shared folders instead of Samba. Is there as easy way to monitor their activity, something equivalent to smbstatus?

Nope, there is no such thing.

You basically downgraded your shared folders.

VMHGFS is good for ad hoc things, not for heavy duty use.

AFAICT there's only the options you can see with:

vmhgfs-fuse -h

If you prefer ease of use and predictability over obscure makeshift solutions I would recommend to switch to Samba.
Anyway - respect for your warrior mindset.

Interesting replies...I did a couple of tests on file transfers and VMware's solution was faster. On that note, I really haven't started hammering the shares yet. I'll give Samba another look (still installed, just not active).
