Migrate workstation VM to ESXi host

We are setting up our systems and want to initially put vsphere on a window 7 64 bit VM to be located on a workstation.  Down the road a bit I want to move that VM from the workstation onto an ESXi host.  What mechanism should I use to do that. I am running workstation 7.  Thank you.

Can you explain this please!?

Usually you would use VMware Converter to convert VMware Workstation VMs to an ESXi host.

I use a texteditor plus vmware-vdiskmanager plus winscp
more reliable then Converter but not so convenient
