Manually delete snapshot files

I deleted a snapshot and while it was cleaning the deleted files, I accidentally clicked the"Cancel" button. Now I'm probably with a lot of trash files in my HD.

Is there any way to know what files to delete so that I can finish the job manually?

Running VMWare Workstation 6.0.4.

Thanks.

Backup your VM, move files that - you think - are not needed. If everything is fine, delete moved files.

What are the naming convensions for snapshots so i can remove the files manually? I have Workstation 6.0.3 and after attempting to remove the snapshot it failed due to not having enough 'spare' disk space but then i can't delete manually.

The vmx-file has a reference to the latest vmdk - look in this referenced vmdk - it has a link to its parent ... this parent has a link to its parent and so on.

Follow the whole chain and note all needed files.

Compare with the vmdks you have in the directory - every vmdk that is not mentioned in the parent - child chain can be deleted.
