Hey.
I've been searching out the forums for this answer and the power guide, and I'm still unsure how to maintain a specific resolution size within a windowed format for my guest OS.
E.g. I'd love to have a 1280x800 format, for example, stretched inside a non-full screened session of the VM and remain constant, rather than having it do a custom resize, such as when I stretch the screen and Ubuntu reports a custom resolution of 1021x792. I'd like this because I am unable to stretch my resolution past 1280x800 on the machine, and the other resolutions provided are only available in full-screen mode or if I let the window exceed the boundaries of the Host OS.
Thanks.
In VMWare, go to edit/preferences/display. Unselect the 2 autofit at the top and select center guest.
This does not work - it instead frames the resolution into a box inside the Guest OS window and scrollbars appear, and this is something I'd like to avoid.
I will continue to play with it, though.
A last bump for this issue before it dies a horrible death.
