Locking a snapshot

Hi,

I have to work with a lot of VMs and one of my daily Routine is to update the producs on a VM and make a new snapshot, and to prevent that old snapshots take up to much space, I delete the old one.

Now, there is one Snapshot, the Baseline, which must not be deleted. My question now is, is there a way to lock a snapshot to prefent an accidentally deletion of said snapshot?

I use the Workstation 11, vSpere Client and vSpere WebClient.

So I guess after a week with no response that there is no way to lock a Snapshot?

I'm not aware of an option to lock a snapshot. However, it might be an option to create a linked clone from the base VM and only work with the clone. This way the base .vmdk will not be touched!?
