Local name resolution on guest Ubuntu - W7 host

I have the guest set up to use NAT. MY local network that the host mach9ine is on is 192.168.69.xxx. The network that my virtual machines are on is 192.168.74.xxx. I have name resolution on my guest using dns for outside names like google.com but local PC's on the network 192.168.69.xxx are not resolving by name only IP IP address.

If I ping google.com by name it works.

If I ping the host machine by IP it works.

If I ping another computer on the local network by IP it works.

If I ping host machine by name it fails.

If I ping another computer on the local network by name it fails.

I have not tried pinging one virtual guest machine to another by name or IP yet.

How do I get name resolution to work on a virtual ubuntu guest OS (192.168.74.xxx) for all machines on the local network (192.168.69.xxx and 192.168.74.xxx).

I am having the exact same problem - it seems to be a Linux guest problem - I have setup a Fedora guest and it behaves the same!  I too need some help with this!
