Left click won't work

Host OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Guest OS: WinXP Pro 32-bit.

Left click won't work at all. It works as if nothing has been pressed. Right-click works.

System has two mice, one PS/2 and one USB. I only use the USB mouse.

In another Guest OS, Vista, right-click works properly. Any ideas how to fix?

Have you installed the VMware Tools in your guests? These contain the necessary drivers.

I had the same problem and the only solution that worked for me was:

Edit/Preferences/Input/Cursor

Remove ticks from all 3 options (maybe 2nd won't be necessary)
