LSI Logic SCSI Adapters with SCSI Virtual Disk- Windows XP

I am using vmware workstation 6.0.3. I want to install xp on vm.

If I choose LSI Logic SCSI Adapters with IDE Virtual Disk, then the XP CD (modified) can see the disk.

If I choose BusLogic SCSI Adapters with SCSI Virtual Disk XP CD (modified) can see the disk.

Here "modified" means I add the drives for LSI and for SCSI disk.

But if I choose LSI Logic SCSI Adapters with SCSI Virtual Disk, then XP CD (original and modified) can't see the disk.

Someone has any idea on this????

Make sure you use proper F6 floppy image (with right drivers in it):

Thanks for you reply.

But as I mentioned in the fisrt post, I integrated the two drivers (LSI Logic and SCSI Disk) to the XP CD, so I don't need to press F6.

And this CD works for "BusLogic with SCSI Disk" and "LSI Logic with IDE disk", so I think this CD should work for "LSI Logic with SCSI Disk"

However, I aslo tried "integrate one driver to CD and use floppy for the other one driver", and still doesn't work.

Did you try to boot virtual machine and F6 with your driver before integrating it to CD?

Did you try the same virtual machine with my floppy image and F6?

OK, with your drivers, it works.

For the first question, I use my own floppy image with original CD, doesn't work.

I think my drivers has problem, even though it works with "LSI Logic and IDE Disk"

Thank you very much.

Sincerely.

It's the problem of the .sys file.

My version is 1.26.5.0 and yours is 1.21.25.0.

I use files in your floppy image, but replace the .sys by mine, then doesn't work....

Old version works but new version doesn't...@@

I have never found any compelling reason to look for a newer version.

Except for the time when I wanted to post instructions for someone else.... Smiley Wink
