Kubuntu guest in Vista VMware Workstation

Hi,
I have a Windows Vista O/S on my notebook HP. I install VMWare Workstation and try to install Kubuntu 7.10 on the virtual machine.
In the middle of the installation, when the vmware try to starting copy the files to the hard disk (on Vista) it show an error message:
"Fiald to copy files, faulty CD/DVD or hard disk?" (see screenshot attached).
I also have the VMware Workstation on my Desktop copmuter and it didn't perform any errors and install Kubuntu successfully.
I think that the problem is with the security and file manager of Windows Vista.

How you installed the workstation, as admin or as a private Or domain user.

please check the user rights in which u r logging in.

u should have full control over the folder where you are installing the VMDK VM file.

Please Test the CD once again in normal environment.

Before installing Linux(Kubuntu) it will ask for test the CD na there u can verify.

You kind of posted this in the wrong forum, but hey.. help anyway! :face_with_tongue:

Are you trying to install from an actual CD or an ISO image stored on your local machine?

To be fair.. looks to me like an issue with the install media.
