Kubuntu 20.04 Kernel 5.4.0.29 now needs to be recompiled

Hi

I love Vmware and have been using VmWorkstation for years now. However, lately whenever Ubuntu updates the kernel, my VMWorkstation cannot update to the new kernel. I naturally follow the advice in GitHub - mkubecek/vmware-host-modules: Patches needed to build VMware (Player and Workstation) host ...  but now even this won't work in kernel 5.4.0.29

I have decided to stay with kernel 5.4.0.28 although I cannot see why vmware cannot sort this out... as kernels will be updated ....

Any reasons why this is a problem in vmworkstation ?

Ubuntu 19.04 is the latest supported by Workstation: VMware Knowledge Base

I guess 20.04 will be supported by a future Workstation release.

This may be a better place to ask: Workstation Tech Preview
