Noel and my programmer friends.
Kernel 2.6.38-1 was released today for Ubuntu Natty. Can you guys get a patch out for this kernel??
Thank you.

PS The patch for Kernel 2.6.37 now works perfectly with no error messages at all. lKudos.
Hi,
Where did you find this kernel. I cannot see it:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/
Cheers
Installed the CDROM of Ubuntu Natty Daily Build about a week ago (you can goggle for Ubuntu Natty Daily and find your flavor - I use 64 bit alternate install myself. The update - manager GUI hangs for me so I use the CLI suod aptitude lupdate followed by sudo safe-upgraDed (rathe than dist-upgrade for caution). Then not only did the generic 2.6.38-1 appear but also the server and virtual kernels at that level. I cannot tell you my sources.list because at athe moment I am in Windows 7 - however it is the standard sources that came with Natty -enabling other software sources and third party of course. As to the nature of the post I reinstalled VirtualBox and its working fine under the new kernel. I guess sometimes you don't get what you paid for
.
BTWE somewhat opp topic - does anybody know where openSUSE puts its kernele header filess. It s not in the standard /usr/sric so I can cojmple VMware of the version of Virtualbox that s not the OSE.
Marty
Thx for info. BTW I have found this kernel:
http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package_metas/list?name=linux-image-2.6.38
Still there is no path for WOrkstation/Player 😞
Today upgraded from Ubuntu 10.10 to the Alpha 11.04. Looks like all is well with the exception of VMWare. Need patch for kernel 2.6.38-2.
