I have VMware workstation 10.0.5 in Windows 8.1 Host and installed Oracle Linux 6.6 as guest OS.
I am trying to install VMWare tools, but could not. I did the following steps
- VM tab->Install VMWare tools
- mkdir /mnt/cdrom
- mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom(I get an msg 'block device is write protected, mounting readonly- I did look around, looks like lot of others had this warning)
- Then when I tried to copy the VMwareTools-*.tar.gz file, I could not find it, the /mnt/cdrom folder is empty.
Am I missing something obvious? Any help is appreciated.Thanks.
