Internet connections within VMs stop working after a while. (VMNAT service)

For some strange reason I need to restart my VMNAT service every so often to keep my internet connection working.

I have settings as following.

Windows 2003 R2 Server running VMWare Workstation 6 (upgraded from 5 but still have the same issue) NIC set to DHCP.

VMWare machines all have 2 NICS: (Os ranges from W2K3 to Win xP Pro)

1st set to NAT

2nd set to custom 9 with Static IPs. (192.168.3.5)

Subnet mask set to 255.255.255.0

Default gateway specified = none

DNS = either 127.0.0.1 or Domain controller running DNS server = 192.168.3.20

I have rebuilt the Windows 2003 R2 server from scratch and still have this problem so if must be Vmware related.

Only thing that keeps me sane is scheduled task that restarts VMNat service every 10 mins.

Bump.

I also have to restart the NAT service every so often to keep my internet connection working.

Schedule a job to check if service does what is suppose to do, if not - restart.
