VMware 6.5.2
Host OS Windows XP
Guest OS - Ubuntu 8.0.4 Server
I am unable to ping www.google.com or any other web address for that matter. The Network Adapter is set to NAT. Is there something I am missing?
Your help is very much appreciated.
Regards,
Maru
If the ping was from the Guest OS - Ubuntu 8.0.4 Server, you have a network connection, so what is exactly your issue?
Welcome to the forums!
Post "ipconfig /all" from the host and "ifconfig -a" from the guest as well as its "/etc/resolv.conf".

I tried it again today with the following:
ping www.google.com
PING www.l.google.com(72.14.205.147) 56(84) bytes of data
64 bytes from qb-in-f147.google.com (72.14.205.147):icmp_seq=1 tt1=128 time=13.7ms
64 bytes from qb-in-f147.google.com (72.14.205.147):icmp_seq=1 tt1=128 time=13.7ms
....
Does the above result indicate I have a connection?
