Intel (R) Virtualization Technology and Intel (R) VT-d Feature

Hi,

In the BIOS, I have seen Intel (R) Virtualization Technology and Intel (R) VT-d Feature.

Both are by default enabled

I use virtualization in the laptop using VMware Workstation Pro but I am not sure about both.

Please let me know, how both are different?

If I disable, Intel (R) VT-d Feature, what can be issue?

And if I disable Intel (R) Virtualization Technology, what can be issue?

With Regards

I found the link as below;

https://techlibrary.hpe.com/docs/iss/proliant-gen10-uefi/s_enabling_VT-d.html

https://superuser.com/questions/396270/should-i-enable-intel-virtualization-and-vt-d

From both links, I understood as

Intel (R) Virtualization Technology must be enabled, if we want to virtualization in the laptop or if we want to use Desktop Hypervisor.

and Intel (R) VT-d is an optional feature. It can be left as disabled. And it can be useful if we want to access Virtual Machine directly.

If I am right for Intel (R) VT-d, please let me know, how I can do it practically?

With Regards
