Incorrect (inflated) .VMDK file size

Hello all,

I'm running VMware Workstation 10.0.2 build-1744117 and am scratching my head as to why the size of my .VMDK file for a newly deployed Windows 7 x64 guest is so large despite having provisioned a 60GB vDisk and opting to not pre-allocate space.  The size of my VMDK file is almost 60GB while on the guest it shows only ~21GB consumed.  I have tried compacting to no avail.  This is not consistent with other VMs I have wherein the VMDK file size corresponds to the capacity in use on the vDisk. Please see below screenshots for corroboration.  It would be much appreciated if anybody could shed some light on why this is the case.

Sorry to have wasted everybody's time in clicking on this post.  After a nominal amount of research I discovered the error of my ways and proceeded to shrink the volume.

Cheers!
