Hello,
I'm having a serious problem for the past week trying to use IIS 7 through my Windows 7 VM,
It seems that i can't browse my localhost address. It doesn't work by computer name either or 127.0.0.1.
I've searched tens of pages through google and tried many things but it just doesn't work i'm getting frustrated here..
My firewall is completely off
so is my Anti-Virus
added exception rules to my firewall
hard reset my IE settings
chrome can't access my local address either
I've discovered recently that ALL of my ports are blocked..
i've started dealing with the network switching to NAT and trying port forwarding and that didn't work either.. port number 80 is inaccessible.. switched to 8080 and 8081 and 443 and still nothing.. by doing "Diagnose Connection Problems" i get the following error - "the device or resource (localhost) is not set up to accept connections on port https" -- and any other port i try..
If anyone have a clue what can it be... i'll appreciate any help attempt
Does the Virtual Machine have basic Internet/Network Connectivity? If yes, then this is not a VMware issue per se and will need to be troubleshot just as with IIS running on a Physical Machine. If no, then you need to start by insuring the Virtual Machine has Internet/Network Connectivity and go from there. Make sure the Virtual Machine has a Network Adapter in its Settings and it is connected and then in the Guest OS not disabled at the Guest OS level. The rest is Basic Industry Standard Networking Troubleshooting, so act accordingly.
The basic Internet/Netwwork Connectivity works fine by why would you think it has nothing to do with it?
No matter what i try, the ports are all blocked completely!
I've found a YouTube clip showing the EXACT similar problem, only with LINUX and no true solution - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTk7f7xCKBw
