What did you use to recreate your VMX file?

A VMX file does not contain any format strings. You need a pure ASCII editor like Notepad++ and nothing like M$-Word.

Welcome to the Community,

please compress/zip the VM's configuration (.vmx) file as well as the vmware.log file and attach the .zip archive to a reply post.
