I would like for my VM running on Workstation 9 to be accessible by my network.
I have one laptop (win7) that is running VMPlayer (3.0.0) and which has a VM running
ubuntu and when I set its network adapter to bridged it connects to my network
just fine. And I have a second windown 7 laptop that is running Workstation 9
which has a VM running RHEL6 and when I set its network adapter to bridged
the eth1 never comes up ...
I have turned off all the security software on my second windows 7 laptop but still bridged networking does not work.
Since this is a Laptop which most likely has multiple network adapters (wired plus wireless), open the Virtual Network Editor and select the network adapter you want to use from the drop down list for the Bridged network (rather than using the default Automatic).

Thanks for the reply Andre, I did what you said and I saw that I only had "Virtual Box" interfaces to choose from. I have uninstalled Oracle Virtual Box and I am trying again.
Bridge is working fine now at least on my network at home even using the default 'automatic', but after I connect to work via VPN I cannot get bridged to work with my network at the office.
I guess I have ruled out any problem with VM workstation though.
