I am looking for some help,

I am new to the VM world and I want to set up a lab in my home.  I was looking to buy a Dell T110 server and I will be running Windows server 2008 on it and was wondering what is the minimum specs I should get.  I will be running VM workstations with I guess up to 4 ESX / ESXi servers.  I was wondering if the Xeon 3430 GHz processor would be good.

That processor has VT-x so I'm sure it would be fine. I mean, you could even run without it but I think you can't have 64bit guests then. Just make sure you have a decent amount of ram. People make labs with less horsepower than what you are looking at.

you also need several harddisks to run 4 ESXi VMs at the same time with fun
