How to disable the ability to allow creation of VM's in VMware Player?

Hi,

First of all, sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place...

I couldn't seem to be able to find VMware player part of the forum.

I've got a need to allow users to just run VM's and not be able to create them, it's been a while since I've used VMware player so I downloaded the latest version and it seems now that you are able to create VM's and play them...

Does anyone know how to disable the ability for users to be able to create VM's... I just want to let them play them...

Hope someone can help?

Regards,

Dave.

Use the older version of VMware Player.  It does not allow the creation of VM's.  You could also use VMware Workstation which allows the creation of restricted accounts.

Can you remember what version of VMware player only allows the use of playing a VM?

I'd need to find out whether that works on Windows 7.

The other way I thought (not very neat but) just create a shortcut to the vmplayer.exe and direct it to the vmx file...
