Hi there,

If you want to transfer files while the vm is not in use see the vmware help topic "Map or Mount a Virtual Disk to a Drive on the Host"

If you want to trasnfer files while the system is in use, refer to vmware help topic "Transferring Files and Text Between the Host and Guest". It does not involve much networkiing knowledge just that the guest vm has the vmware tools installed. Jsut rember to check "map as a netowrk drive in the windows guest.

let me know if you dont find the help topics clear enough.

If you are using the VMware player first start a virtual machine.  Then in the menu bar select Virtual Machine drop down menu.  Then select reinstall  VMware tools and they will be installed.  You should then see an VMware tools icon in the system tray.

I also have file sharing set up between my Host and VM so I can help you with this if you need it.
