Hello,
I am currently creating a Windows 7 image that will be deployed in several computer labs in a university setting. Because some of these images will end up in VMs, I'd like to pre-install VMware tools on the master image. Unfortunately my master computer is not a VM and thus VMware tools refuses to install stating: "The VMware Tools should only be installed inside a virtual machine." Is there a way to bypass this check? Are there any issues that may occur from bypassing it?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
vmware-tools install drivers - you dont want drivers that do not fit the system in a master-image.
So better make sure that vmware/tools are automatically installed or updated on first launch in a VM.
