But I filed a bug that this way did not work over on ubuntu launchpad.net and was told that the correct way to do this was...
That wasn't the right way to do that.
Add a file in /etc/udev/rules.d with something like:
KERNEL=="vmnet0", GROUP="vmware-%k"
Can someone who has done this before give some guidence?
