How expose two physical network adapters to an existing Linux guest?

Being a Linux newbie, this may be a Linux question as much as VMware workstation.

I have 2 network adapters in my Vista host:

  1. Eth0Corporate a 10.0.0.x, DHCP assigned IP

  2. Eth1TestLan at 192.168.1.x, static assigned IP

How can I communicate with the 2 LANS nics and do the following in my Red Hat Enterprise (RHEL) 5.2 guest:

  1. Eth0Corporate a 10.0.0.x, DHCP assigned IP

  2. Eth1TestLan at 192.168.1.111, static assigned IP

  3. Access the Internet via Eth0Corporate

  4. If possible, I need to keep data such as any-ip multi-cast data received on Eth1TestLan from from getting to Eth0Corporate

I got this working on a previous VM with some kind assistance and mucking-about in the VMX file and the Virtual Network Editor. This time I am trying to understand it so I can document a step-by-step guide to help others on my team do the same.

Thanks in advance for reading and any direction you may provide,

-Ed

I want to learn the vmx way of doing this rather than the GUI when possible. I am trying to figure out how to apply the vmx information that is found on the excellent Vmware resources found at .

Never, mind. I made a new VM from scratch and it was easy. I used VMware Fusion rather than workstation but I expect the same applies.

1 - Add a second adapter to the VM before booting the install disk

2 - Make both adapters bridged

3 - When booting RHEL, there is a screen where you can add a second adapter

Sorry, I think I made it more complicated than necessary.
