How do you use a 4-port NIC with VMWare Workstation Pro 16 to tie 4 different guest vms?

I am trying to configure a lab with multiple probe locations but it appears that you cannot tie a guest vm to a specific network adapter that is on a card on the mother board but you could if they were on four different USB nics?

Is there a better way to do this?

Hi,

You can create multiple virtual networks where each virtual network is tied to a different NIC.

Have a look at the virtual network editor in the Edit menu and add a new virtual network, set it to bridged and select the NIC you want that network to use.
Then have the VM use your custom virtual network.

First go to Edit → Virtual network editor, click Change settings, and add bridged networks for each network adapter (each NIC port should appear as a separate adapter), and write down the network names (or simply rename them to something more useful than vmnetX).

Then in VM settings go to Network Adapter, choose Custom on the right side, and select appropriate network; if the guest requires multiple NICs, just add as many as you need, and tie them to the appropriate VM networks.
