How can you preserve file shares across reboots?

Using VMware Workstation 8.0.4 with CentOS 6.3 I find after rebooting the server my file shares no longer work.  Running lsmod | grep vm no longer shows vmhgfs.  I need to rerun vmware-config-tools.pl and then relog my session in order to get the shares back.

Is there a way to have vmhgfs start correctly on boot?

I just experienced this for the first time in VMware Workstation 9.0.0, any fix/update available?
