Hibernate on desktop and resume on laptop?

I have a Windows XP Pro VM. If I suspend it on a desktop and try to resume on a laptop, I get a message informing me that this will result in unpredictable behavior because the host CPU architectures are different.

Instead of suspending, could I hibernate the VM on the desktop and resume on the laptop? Would this be safe, or would there still be problems due to the different CPU's?

Thanks,

Chris

There will be no difference between hibernate and suspend as far as this CPU error is concerned. Your only choices are to either shutdown instead of suspend/hibernate, or get a matching CPU's for the desktop and laptop. (Or at least CPUs from the same family.)
