Having problems connecting USB

I've been trying for a while to connect some wifi adapters to my kali VM without success. Just recently every USB device's connect option got greyed out making it impossible for me to connect. When it prompts me if I want to connect my USB to the VM it just ignores my instructions and connects to host. This is how the connect option looks. Does anyone have a solution?

Go to the Kali VM vmx configuration and look for the line

usb.restrictions.defaultAllow = "FALSE"

Either set the value to "TRUE" or remove that line.

Before you edit the vmx configuration file, the VM has to be shut down (not suspended).
