Hard disk not found on xp installation workstation 7

Hi,

I'm learning vmware at the moment, have installed workstation 7, I'm trying to install xp, but every time I go to install the installer fails to find the hard disk. I've tried using the same floppy image scsci controller that worked with esx server, but unfortunately this didn't work with workstation and I don't know where to download the correct floppy image from.

I'm using a Dell dimension 8400 running 2003 server

Any assistance much appreciated.

thanks

on Workstation the easiest way is to install to IDE-disks

but the ESX-floppy should also work IF you ordered the correct scsi-controller in the vmx-file

its either

scsi0.virtualDev = "buslogic"

or

scsi0.virtualDev = "lsilogic"

The controller must match the driver-floppy you want to use

Give this one a try: <a class="jive-link-external" href="http://download3.vmware.com/software/vmscsi-1.2.0.4.flp">VMware SCSI Driver Disk</a>
