My scenario:
VMWare Workstation 10
Host: Windows 7
Guest: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 or 6 (both are valid for this scenario).
BEFORE
2Wire DSL/Router with internet access.
The Guest OS has a Bridged Network configured.
The GUest OS could access to internet through the pysican network (bridged network).
AFTER
Same 2Wire DSL modem with internet access.
DLink DIR-825 Router with internet access through the 2Wire DSL modem.
DLink DIR-825 configured with same IP range
Host and Guests connected to DLink DIR-825.
Host can access to internet with no problem
Guest OSs cannot access to internet.
If I change again to the BEFORE scenario, the Guests OSs can access to internet again.
Obviously, there is something in the DLink configuration which allows to host and many other physical machines to access to internet, but not to virtual machines, It seems that VMs require something additional which is not configure by default into the DLink (and was configured by default into the 2Wire).
As 2Wire has a ver few things to manually configure (mostly all is configured by default with no data showed), and the DLink has many things to manually configure, there is no way to compare setting by setting the config in the 2Wire with the config in the DLink.
Any idea?
