Guest and Host OS!!

Like the title suggested, what does Guest OS and Host OS means?? Whats the difference between them and also, i cannot see my external usb drive in my vm.

Host OS is the operating system where you install your virtualization application

Guest OS is the operating system where you install your OSs in virtual machines using the virtualization application software

have you installed vmware tools inside the virtual machine? if so, you should be able to "see" the usb drive as a usb device
