Firewall needed on VMWare Workstation Guest?

I have a guest on VMWare workstation, running in bridged mode.

I have a software firewall on the host (ZoneAlarm).

Does the guest traffic get filtered through the host's s/w firewall (ZoneAlarm) ?

Since it picks up it's own IP, I was thinking it does not.

...

(Obviously, the guest still needs the AV and anti-spyware stuff since I use it's browser on the internet.)

Yes, you need a firewall just as is if the guest was a seperate physical PC.
