Failed to install hcmon driver - workstation 12 download

I tried to download VM workstation and it was downloading fine until it was installing virtual drivers and had an error rolling back the installation. I have tried many suggestions but nothing works.

  1. Have you verified the checksums of the downloaded installation file to rule out file corruption?
  2. Are you running the installer 'As Admin'?
  3. Are you really sure you want to install a version which is 4 major releases old?
  4. There should be an installation log file which may list an error message of a missing/invalid dependency, such as the MS Visual C++ Runtime libraries.
