Export to Removable disk

Can somonoe help me how to boot a VM through a USB stick,

or in version of workstation "Export to Removable disk " is available  ??

your request is unprecise - please explain

• you can use a VM that is smply stored on a USB-stick
• you can use a VM that actually boots from a USB-stick inspite that this is not possible with the VM-BIOS
• you can create a bootable USB-device that can boot directly into a VM on any host - no matter if that host has Workstation installed

does any of that options look right ?

You could build a VM for VMWare player and have 'player' on the USB key, along with all your VMDK files etc.

alternatively, look into VMware ACE

"Export to Removable Disk " ----- i have seen this from VMWorld video, which is existing in VMWare workstation itself,

and with this option, you can store a VM in a USB and can be powered on any system through USB Booting option.

so did you,,,get this clearly now ?

but i do not know in which Workstation i do not know....so hence forth i have posted, here if someone knows  they can reply.

Hi,,sorry this option is with VMware workstation (XX) itself,

may be future /updated workstation release may be include this,,,,

and i do know about the vmware player,,,, but i would like to know in which version of this is/wil inlcude,,,does anyone knows ??

Ok - now I know what you mean.

If you want this from VMware you have to wait - they did not say at vmworld when it will be published - if ever.

On the other hand - I make something very similar and it is available since  WS 4.5
