Error with VM after locating in OneDrive folder

Recently, I had the misfortune of setting up OneDrive which attempted to "backup" my virtual machine folder.

Now, when I attempt to power on a virtual machine, I get the following message:

VMware Workstation cannot find the virtual disk "<xxx.vmdk>". Verify the path is valid and try again.

The system cannot find the file specified.

Cannot open the disk '<xxx.vmdk>' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.

         Module 'Disk' power on failed.

Failed to start the virtual machine.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Attach a listing of the contents of the VM's directory - showing file sizes.  Also attach the latest vmware.log from the folder.

You may also want to log into OneDrive via the web interface to see what files for your VMs it thinks it has in the cloud, you might also want to check for details on available versions for those files. It could be useful in a recovery situation.

also if you’re running any AV solution, see if anything is in quarantine.
