Error when try to run Workstation 5

Hi,

I have upgrade my Workstation5(paid) to vmware workstation6 (trial) and vmware Ace2 for testing purpose.

Then i uninstall workstation6 and Ace2 and install back workstation5.

Now i got error msg when try to run workstation5 :

Host:

Windows XP PRO SP2

Vmware server console installed (No issue)

Vmware workstation 5 installed (error)

I try clean remove all vmware component (registry and files) but it didn't help..Maybe I missing something here. Please Advise

Try uninstalling the Server Console first, then installing Workstation, run it, then reinstall the Server Console.

Open a command prompt window and change to the directory where VMware Workstation is installed. You should see a DLL with the name of vmappsdk.dll in this directory. From the command line type the following command.

cd "\Program Files\VMware\VMware Workstation\"

regsvr32 vmappsdk.dll

Try to start the VMware Workstation again and post any new errors

My problem solved! ...

I have try

regsvr32 vbscript.dll

regsvr32 vmappsdk.dll

but failed.

After a few research , i found out that it because of Registry permission on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > VBScript.

Then, I download and install SubInACL from microsoft and reset the registry permission. Reinstall VMware, Reboot... Now Everything work fine!
