I get the following error when I try and start my VM for the first time. Any ideas why? Attached is an image of the error and the log file.
Does VMware player work with win10 pro 64bit? I was expecting it work right out of the box, if win10 requires a bunch of testing, tweaking, hoping and praying I will digress, so that is why I ask.
Thanks
What other VM software is there.
Oracle doesn't work and now VM player. I'd much rather move onto a product that works then try and spend time on one that doesn't work out of the box
Hi,
From the log file provided it appears that you are running VMware Player Version 7.1.3; is it an option for you to upgrade to the current supported release of VMWare Workstation Player 12.5 (VMware Workstation Player - VMware Products) this product is free for non-commercial use.
Kind regards,
Adrian
I thought I had downloaded the latest version but apparently not? The version I had was the VM Workstation version 11.1.3 from the installer file VMware-workstation-full-11.1.3-3206955.exe, I now have downloaded the VM Player version you suggested and if the Workstation version will uninstall (it's taking a long time) I ill install the Player version you linked to.
VMWare Workstation 11 should support Windows 10 no issues; I would still recommend upgrading if you have entitlement to do so; reviewing the log file attached there is some warnings regarding locking which also could be an issue; try also rebooting your device and checking the folder where the VM is hosted for .lck folders;
If any of these exist try removing these folders and retrying a Power On operation.
Kind regards,
Adrian
I installed the version you suggested and the error appears to be identical
