Error "The required inquiry data (SCSI page 83h VPD descriptor) was reported as not being supported"

Hello,

I'm trying to test in Workstation 11 the Storage Spaces Direct technology present in Windows Server Technical Preview 2.

I created 4 virtual machines and attached 3 disks at every vm (all attached via SCSI controller): when I launch the command to validate the cluster I obtain the error "The required inquiry data (SCSI page 83h VPD descriptor) was reported as not being supported." so the test is not completed.

Has someone encountered this error previously or have a workaround on this?

Hi,

Same problem here... solve by using this link : http://blog.developpez.com/mikedavem/p9891/sql-server-2005/stockage_et_haute_disponibilite_comment

it seems to be a MPIO setting after installing the MPIO option into the server.

Hope it will help you.

Hi,

Im having this exact issue Smiley Sad

When you say install the MPIO option does anything need configuring, the link doesn't seem to have anything to do with Storage Spaces Direct its iScsi?

Thanks

Hi ,

Yes you need after install to check the indicated box (add support for ISCSI devices) in the link (image added)
